February Flowers Day 5 Dahlia 8.5x11 inch original painting

I’ve decided to paint a different type of flower each day for the month of February!

You probably know by now that I loveeee flowers so this will be a perfect way to share some of that love with you. 

Day 5 features a bold, bright, beautiful dahlia!

This original painting was created with watercolor and acrylic paint (and lots of layers of love love!) on 8.5x11 inch (140lb cold-pressed) watercolor paper. Sealed with semi-gloss varnish for extra protection. 

The fourth photo shows a snippet of this piece while it was still a work in progress...always building up lots of layers to create the final piece!
