"Joy Runs Deeper" is an abstract painting created with acrylic paint, pencil, soft pastels, oil pastels, gouache, interference violet (iridescent medium) and semi gloss varnish (to seal and protect the painting) on an 8 x 16 inch canvas. The 1/2 inch sides are painted to match the style of the painting as well.
This painting is a part of an abstract collection of works:
"The “Fullness of Joy” Collection was created out of my love for encouraging others and sharing joy through painting. I wanted these abstract paintings to be cheerful, yet layered and complex due to the challenges in the paths that some take to find their joy. Beautiful moments peeking through the journey to find joy are represented by bright colors layered beneath the shades of white. I believe that joy is a continual journey throughout life and it can be found even within the quietest of moments.
These paintings were created with love and acrylic paint, chalk pastels, oil pastels, pencil, texture tools, and even some watercolor. Using a variety of different materials to create these original works represents how joy can be found through varying circumstances. The paintings in this collection are all abstract because I believe that abstract paintings tell a different story to each viewer, and each person may be drawn to different elements within the pieces.
I have chosen a different joyful saying to compliment each painting. These sentiments are meaningful to me, not only because my middle name is Joy, but also because of my personal journey, my faith, and my mission to share joy through my art."
